Webstream Testing

Welcome to our webstreaming test page.

This webpage is designed to make sure that your computer is setup correctly to watch the live webstream of a funeral service. We invite you to use this test page well in advance of the service, so we have time to assist you with any issues.

To test your webstreaming setup:

Click the play button on the player above. You should see a sample video playing, including sound.

  • In the bottom left corner of the player, there is an audio icon to adjust the volume (with some web browsers you may need to hover your mouse over the player window to get the icons to appear)
  • At the bottom right hand side, is an icon that will allow you to expand the player to full screen.
  • If this test is successful, you can close this browser window and your setup is complete.

Checklist of requirements:

1. An internet connection of reasonable quality. We suggest at least ADSL Broadband. We do not recommend mobile based internet connections like 3G/4G/NextG.

2. A web browser. We recommend Google Chrome browser ( http://www.google.com/chrome/ ), however our services do work on both Internet Explorer and Firefox, so long as you have the latest flash player installed (this is commonly already installed; you can check your version or install by going to this link https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/). If you are using the Chrome web browser, then this is already installed for you.

3. Speakers or headphones that are setup to hear what is being played in your internet browser (setup as you would with any youtube or other flash video)

A guide to testing issues:

'I don't see a play button, only a black box'

In order to play our services, you need to have flash installed. Please see point #2 above for instructions. If using Internet Explorer, then you may need to remove an older version of flash, prior to installing the new version. If after this you have still having troubles, then please try again on a different browser. We highly recommend the Google Chrome browser, as it already includes everything you need to watch our service. It can be downloaded from http://www.google.com/chrome/.

For additional help with the flash player, please see Adobe's help site at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

In the bottom of the player, there is a sound icon; when clicked this will allow you to adjust the service to your preferred volume.

You should have received an invitation email from us with instructions on how to connect to the webstream. The password for your particular service is included in that email. If you are using the password provided and it still is not working, then fill out the support form below. Please be sure to use the same email address we originally sent your invitation to, and the details of the service you wish to watch.

We have found that in most cases, this is caused by the internet connection to your computer not being fast enough. Please make sure that no one else is using your internet connection at the same time as you are watching the service. If you are using a 3G/4G/NextG internet connection, then try moving the modem to another location.

In order to watch our services via ipad, you require at least a third generation ipad with all the latest updates installed. We highly recommend watching our services on regular computers and not ipads.

At this stage we are unable to support android tablets. We suggest testing various different browsers on your tablet, well before the time of the service, and see if any will work for you.

We have not found mobile phones to be a reliable way to view our services and we do not recommend their use.

We have gone to great lengths to minimize the technical challenges of viewing our streaming services, however it is important to mention that the technology of streaming is reliant on many external factors outside our control. Factors such as internet speed, network reliability, what software is on your computer, and even the hardware you are using to view the stream will all affect the overall experience.
