Food Service/Catering Assistant (casual position)
As the Food Service/Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming, uplifting, and friendly atmosphere in our private catering facility which welcomes guests to join in fellowship and the sharing of food. Your role will include assistance with the preparation, servicing, and cleaning within our on-site Catering facility.
This role will require an individual with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people, providing care and empathy towards the needs of the family and guests that gather. This role has daily interactions with grieving families and loved ones and requires the ability to build relationships with kindness and warmth.
This role will entail, but not limited to:
- Assist in food preparation.
- Food and drink service.
- Interacting with family and community members.
- Continuously assess and improve catering operations and options.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a positive and productive working environment.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Impeccable verbal and personal presentation.
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure and think on your feet.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Second-to-none customer service skills.
- Understand food safety and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work varied hours; early starts, late finishes and weekends.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality or catering role.
In addition, this role will require a National Police Check and pre-employment medical to ensure the standard of fitness required given the level of service, professionalism and support required to perform the role effectively, we are also a smoke free workplace. This role requires flexibility with hours, we invite applicants requiring part-time, and casual hours to apply.
