Our founder and former Mayor of Toowoomba who established the company in 1900. Following his death, the business was carried on by his son, A.E. (Alf) Burstow.

Alf Burstow was well known and respected for his active involvement with his Church and his music. He was a foundation member of the Toowoomba Musical Union, now known as the Toowoomba Choral Society Inc.
He was a member of and tireless worker for the Toowoomba Sub-Branch of the R.S.L.
Many people of the Downs will remember him as compere of the 4GR Diggers Session over a number of years.

John was the third generation to take over the management of the family company. He rose to this position in 1960 following the death of his father.
During his 42 years service to the Funeral Industry, he was recognised as a leader in the field.
John Burstow was a sensitive man of very high ethics and his approach and caring attitude will long be remembered by many families on the Downs. Since his death in 1988, the business has been co-managed by his sons, Trevor and Donald.

This is the fourth generation of the Burstow Family to serve the community as Funeral Directors.
Both Trevor and Donald are determined in their resolve to maintain the high standards of service and professionalism created by their predecessors.

Sandra is responsible for much of the administrative work and is also trained to consult with families regarding funeral arrangements and pre-planning procedures.
