Casual funeral transfer officer/funeral assistant
This role will see the successful applicant employed on a casual / on call basis with your main responsibility being to act in response to "First Calls" from health care related staff requesting attendance to their deceased patients. You will provide transportation for the deceased from their home, nursing home or hospital to the mortuary facilities on site. The position will include an on-call component between the hours of midnight to 6.00 am
The second function of this vital role will be to provide assistance to the funeral directors during the funeral services. You will be a "hands on" member of their multi-skilled funeral team. The responsibilities in this role will include:
- Setting up at the funeral service;
- Assisting families and Funeral Directors both at the chapel/church and at the graveside
- Caring for and attending to the families
There will be other ad hoc duties in the general preparation for the funeral process.
To be successful in this position you will:
- Be mature and sensitive to the nature of the position
- Have high standards of personal presentation and professionalism
- Have a "second to none" approach to exceptional service, and
- Possess an Open C Licence
An experienced funeral director will be your mentor and you will work with the highest possible standard of equipment and training.
